Vax live represents an upcoming event meant to encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19, it will gather celebrities from around the world, from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to POTUS Joe Biden and the First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

Global Citizen’s VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World is taking place this Saturday on May 8 and it is a concert with the goal of promoting COVID – 19 vaccination and providing help with getting vaccines for everyone, everywhere. The Bidens along with Vice President Kamala Harris will be present for this magnificent event.

They are attending as part of the White House’s “We Can Do This” initiative partnership with the Global Citizen with the aim to build public trust in COVID-19 vaccines while supporting fundamental prevention measures, for example, social distancing and wearing a mask.

Amazingly, they will not be the only representatives of the states given that the both PM Trudeau of Canada and PM Plenković of Croatia along with the French President Macron will attend the event to provide the people with the necessary support to get vaccinated in these hard times.

The host of this incredible event will be the renowned singer and actress Selena Gomez, and among the plethora of celebrities who will be present are Chrissy Teigen, Gayle King, Ben Affleck, Sean Penn, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Olivia Munn.

The members of the Royal family, Harry and his wife Megan will fill in as Campaign Chairs of VAX Live, they will also deliver a significant global message concerning the importance of vaccination, and help ensure fair access to the vaccine during the concert. The couple is also leading a fundraiser for the vaccine-sharing program COVAX.

Some of the performers at the VAX Live concert will be H.E.R., Eddie Vedder, Jennifer Lopez, the Foo Fighters, and J Balvin.

Selena Gomez said that she was honored to be a part of such a historic moment, she was delighted for being able to help encourage people worldwide to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it is made available to them. She also said that this event will help call on the world leaders to share vaccines equitably and that people will finally, after a year of the world standing still, be united through a night filled with music.

Global Citizen will also make a request to humanitarians and companies to donate "dollars-for-doses" to immunize health workers worldwide.

The event will make a plea to the leaders and governments to donate $22.1 billion so that 2 billion vaccine doses, tests, and treatments are provided to the poorest countries of the world.

Hugh Evans, the Global Citizen Co-Founder, and CEO said that we are racing against time and that the main solution for everything is the vaccine. The vaccine will bring us back together and that is why he said that it is of utmost importance to provide confidence to the people to get vaccinated as fast as they can.

This event will be pre-recorded at SoFi stadium which is a large-scale site for vaccination in Los Angeles.

Calif. Governor Gavin Newsom expressed gratitude of the State of California towards the Global Citizen for showcasing that there is nothing impossible when we embrace the vaccination and encourage others to do the same.
